Cordoba-Veracruz, Mexico

By SmallBiz

A very long bus ride from Mexico city to Veracruz, probably 6 or 7 hours! We drove through hills and what we thought was a morning mist was in fact smoke, not from a nearby fire but from the pollution, especially from the smoke that old cars engine’s make.

By the time we got to Veracruz, a friend managed to get us a good cheap hotel to stay in while staying there, she got us a hotel a block away from the city central in an amazing price, I think it was around 50 bucks.

The town was Magnificient, it screamed “Spanish heritage” in every corner we ever went to. Finally, I was able to see a place that is less of a United States-wanna-be and is holding tight to its heritages.

Outside of the iglesia was the independencia park where they had a statue of the leader who fought for Veracruz not to get occupied by the United States.

There were many food carts outside in the park, not like NYC gyro carts but like sunset park, Brooklyn’s Mexican carts; ice cream, mangos con chile, cotton candy, fruits, etc
