JFK to Miami International Airport, escaping the rain and sweater weather to sun blazing Miami south beach!
“Welcome to Miami!” said in a seductive melodic female voice, was exactly how I was greeted by both males and female.
I felt like I was in one of my little brother’s GTA video games; more like when I walked down Ocean avenue!
Fancy cars, loud music, alcohol, some girls in super short dresses and the rest were barely wearing “anything!” Guys with unbuttoned chest showing shirts and sunglasses at night, and everyone spoke spanish.. talk about stereotypes!
But I’m not gonna lie, I loved it!
I stayed in Hotel Astor, 1 block away from Ocean avenue (and the beach!)
My hotel was a love drop of my two favorite things; vintage and south beach!
My sunsets were something like,
And sunrise,
On my first night, I met a very bubble guy that works at the hotel and I asked him if he knew any places to see around the corner for the night,
and he had mentioned “Lincoln road (an outside mall) and a crazy amount of palm trees around 17th ave”.
So I headed out,
The Palm tree jungle that he talked about is actually called New World Center. They also have outside movie screening (something I really liked)
Now heading to Lincoln (outside mall) road.. (I just want to point out that there’s more hookah smoking at night, in that mall than clothing being sold.. and in the morning it’s usually street shops or carts set up.. ( I loved the fresh coconut stand.. but remember to bring cash when you go there 🙁 )
I got back around 2am that night.. I literally couldn’t feel my feet (I walked so freaking much it was crazy!!)
My hotel has a hangout lounge in the basement called Astor social club, I was invited over for a drink.. (But I was so tired I just couldn’t make it and had to excuse myself and go to sleep)

but my heart was in the comfort of those bed sheets, as much as I was excited to get up and explore Miami, I wasn’t able to resist at least 5 more minutes of..
let’s be honest it was like an hour more.. of comfort, in cold, white, and clean sheets with the cool AC breeze flowing through the entire room. Ahhhhh
Well, After I had the courage to get up, I had 30 minutes to catch breakfast.
Sorry to whoever was in the room below me.. but I know you heard that loud running around and jumping from the room above you, I was getting dressed as quick as possible like my life depended on it!

Gurl gotta catch breakfast!!
When you give someone your phone to take a picture.. but they don’t know where to press, and eventually you ask for your phone back!!
After breakfast,
I was planning to get on a Hop-on Hop-off bus around Miami (don’t judge!I was curious how it feels like to be on one, and besides; I had to see the city one way or another, without owning a car that is!)
I guess I was a tourist after all! Mmmm, because I AM! and just because Miami residents live there, it doesn’t mean that they know everything about their city! Look at me, more than 10 years in NYC and never been to the touristy things (statue of Liberty, Empire building, etc)
Sooo, I liked it.. over priced! but you gotta try it at least once.

The hop-on-hop-off bus had three different routes, tours around little Havana (Calle 8), south beach (lincoln mall is in that area), and Wynwood (where Miami’s famous graffitis are).
Little Havana;
a photoshoot with your friends of course!

Of course, when you go to Miami you got to try the Cuban cuisine, Miami has the biggest Cuban population outside of Cuba.
Care for some CUban cigars?!

Special attractions in Miami include;
Holocaust memorial
The longest Palm tree road (I think it’s called Palm road.. but not sure)
The Mall(s) ( I guess people go to Miami to shop in malls sometimes!)
And the Miami heat, of course!
You might run into a celebrity while driving/walking around this area
the third day was the big day!
and I had this cute face on all day.. because.. I AM GOING ON A CRUISE TO THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC!! OMG
And it all ends and begins with an Uber ride.. of course! to Miami port we go..
See you in the Dominican Republic.. 😀
