On our way to Tokyo, we stopped in Kamakura, a small town that’s home to the Great Image of Buddha. This is the second largest statue of its kind, topping out at more than 37 feet tall.

We arrived in Tokyo, continued on to Japan’s capital city, home to 12 million residents. Tokyo is the busy modern heart of the country and the source of most Japanese pop culture.

We later visited the Asakusa Kannon Temple, dedicated to the Goddess of Mercy, the 7th-century Asakusa Kannon Temple is a five-story pagoda surrounded by a bustling market area with shops, restaurants, theaters, and cinemas.

We explored Japan’s largest city with a local guide. Stop at the Imperial Palace Plaza, and visit the Meiji Shinto Shrine, with its elaborate wooden Inner Garden. Then passed through trendy Harajuku, a district popular with young Tokyoites, and continued through the Shibuya Shopping District, which can feel like New York City’s Times Square

we had fun.. in Tokyo 😀

And finally, we enjoyed a dinner with the group and said goodbye to our Japanese Tour Director. (We had Korean BBQ)

In this picture we had mixed feelings; The smoke was crazy and making us tear.. and it was the last day in this beautiful country.
